How Much Do Acrylic Windows Cost? (2026 Price Guide)
Real 2026 prices for every kind of acrylic window: storm inserts, block windows, RV and boat units, greenhouse panels, cut-to-size sheet, and custom residential glazing, with labor.
Updated September 13, 2026
"Acrylic window" covers everything from a $9 pane for a cold frame to a $3,000-per-square-meter aquarium wall, so there is no single answer to what one costs. There is a useful answer for each type, though, and this guide collects the prices we verified in September 2026 while researching our reviews and roundups. Every figure links back to the article where we found it and the retailer or manufacturer it came from.
Prices move with sheet stock and shipping. Treat these as the right order of magnitude and a starting point for quotes.

Interior storm windows and inserts
This is the most common acrylic window purchase for a house, and the price spread is wide because the same job can be done three ways.
Custom compression-fit inserts such as Indow run about $20 to $28 per square foot for the standard grade and $25 to $36 for acoustic, museum, and shade grades, with commercial grade near $40. A typical 3-by-4-foot window lands at $250 to $400. Indow raised prices 10 percent in July 2026, so older quotes online run low. Professional measuring and installation adds a few dollars per square foot if you do not do it yourself. Magnetic systems such as Climate Seal and Magnetite are quoted per window and land in the same broad band, with Magnetite's price including dealer installation.
A DIY kit such as Window Savers is $229 for magnet strip, steel strip, tape, and adhesive enough for about seven average windows, plus the acrylic you buy locally. That works out to roughly $60 to $80 per window all in.
Bare sheet and hardware-store magnetic tape runs $30 to $120 per window depending on size, with a 24-by-48-inch 1/8-inch OPTIX sheet around $50.

Acrylic block privacy windows
Hy-Lite is effectively the only brand at retail. A 34-inch square fixed Wave-pattern window in a white vinyl frame lists at about $438 at Home Depot, $418 in tan. Larger squares, operable awning and hopper styles, and dealer-ordered custom sizes cost more. Individual replacement blocks are a little over $20 at Lowe's. Installation is the same as any nail-fin or replacement window, so figure the usual $150 to $300 in labor per window if you hire it out. See our Hy-Lite review.
RV and camper van windows
Double-pane acrylic awning windows with integrated blind and screen run from about $225 for a European-made Master Overland unit without the shade to $640 for a 450-by-500-millimeter Tern Overland Arctic Tern and $778 for the 550-by-700. NomadicArk sits between at $330 to $627 depending on size and retailer, and an imported Dometic S4 lands at $300 to $500 plus shipping. Installation is a DIY clamp-ring job; a van builder will charge by the hour. Our RV window roundup and NomadicArk review have the details.
Boat windows, windshields, and hatches
A stock acrylic windshield for a classic Boston Whaler is $268 at Specialty Marine. Pattern-matched windshields from UPD Plastics are quoted per boat. Complete Bomar fixed portlights run about $110 to $240 at Great Lakes Skipper. For a DIY re-lensing, sailboat owners reported about $600 in material for three hatches and six large portlights using 1/4 and 1/2-inch sheet, with cut-and-finished quotes from plastics suppliers between $440 and $800. Full 4-by-8 sheets of abrasion-resistant AR2 acrylic are $361 to $1,332 depending on thickness. See our boat windows roundup.
Greenhouse panels
ACRYLITE 16 mm twin-wall is listed from $1,225 at Greenhouse Megastore, sold in five- and ten-panel bundles; 8 mm from $745 and 3 mm corrugated from $645, also bundled. For comparison, a five-panel bundle of 16 mm triple-wall polycarbonate is $685. Solid OPTIX sheet for a cold frame runs from under $9 to about $535 for a full sheet at Home Depot. Our greenhouse panel roundup has the light and insulation numbers that justify the difference.
Cut-to-size sheet
The raw material for any custom acrylic window. Extruded sheet runs roughly $3 to $6 per square foot at 1/4 inch; a 24-by-48-inch piece was $41.52 on sale at Acme Plastics. Cast sheet is about 20 percent more, roughly $6 to $10 per square foot. Cut-to-size from an online supplier usually lands at $15 to $25 per square foot for small pieces once cutting and shipping are included. Specialty grades, UV-filtering, abrasion-resistant, and mirrored, run $15 to $100 per square foot. Thick cast sheet for structural or aquarium use climbs steeply: 1/2-inch sheets are $100 to $200 and up, and pricing guides put clear cast acrylic anywhere from $5 to $250 per square foot across the thickness range. Our suppliers roundup compares where to buy.
Custom residential acrylic windows, installed
For a contractor to replace a glass pane or a whole small window with acrylic, 2026 cost guides put most jobs at $350 to $800 per opening, with a range of about $180 to $2,000 depending on size, thickness, frame condition, and region. A standard 2-by-3-foot window runs $300 to $700 including materials and labor. The panel alone is commonly priced at $20 to $60 per square foot at this level, and labor at $75 to $200 per hour or $150 to $300 per window.
For context, a conventional replacement window averages about $1,047 installed nationally, with most falling between $450 and $2,800. Acrylic is not cheaper than a stock vinyl double-pane window; it is cheaper than custom glass and the only option where weight or impact rule glass out.
Aquarium and pool viewing panels
Thick cast acrylic for viewing panels is priced by the panel and the job. Industry guides put large custom panels at $900 to $3,000 per square meter depending on thickness, curvature, and installation. Home aquarium panels in 1/2 to 1-inch sheet are bought by the sheet at the prices above. This is a category where the fabricator, not the sheet, sets the price.
What drives the price
- Thickness. Cost rises faster than linearly. 1/2 inch is far more than four times the price of 1/8.
- Cast versus extruded. About 20 percent premium for cast.
- Grade. Impact-modified, UV-filtering, and abrasion-resistant sheet each add a premium, AR the most.
- Custom versus stock. A pattern-matched windshield or a laser-measured insert costs more than a rectangle.
- Included hardware. RV windows with blind and screen, portlights with frames, and inserts with compression tubing bundle the expensive part.
- Shipping. Flat sheet over 24 by 48 goes freight. Greenhouse panels always do.
- Labor. Most acrylic windows are DIY-installed, which is where the savings over glass actually come from.
